So. Today was not as fruitful as yesterday. I couldn't sleep last night (stupid me, after cutting WAY back on my diet Dew intake, I way over did it yesterday evening). Finally was able to get comfortable snuggled up next to Clover about 6:45 this morning and fell asleep sometime after that. Came back downstairs and fell asleep again on my bed and slept until about 10:30 when 2 lovely ladies from the local Kingdom Hall stopped by and Clover didn't know what to do since she isn't allowed to answer the door (yes I am one of those over protective mother hens). So with sleep in my eyes and possibly slobber in my hair, I answered the door and swapped niceties with them. I know/grew up with several of the other families from their KH, and assured them of my salvation and of the fact that I have been invited to meeting on many occasions. We said our goodbyes and with that, I was up for the day on about 3 hours sleep. My major goal today was to make it to bedtime without taking a nap, well here I am at 1 a.m. napless and still up *blargh*.
We did get some things cleaned up today and found some awesome little treats in the container garden area...our Mexican Sour Gherkin Cucumbers were ripe! This is my favorite little veggie treat at the moment! Imagine small grape sized watermelons that taste like lemony cucumbers, and you have the cucamelon (the more apt name for these tasty little treats). It was all I could do to keep Clover out of them long enough for me to take a picture!
Are they not the cutest little veggies EVER?!
Yarrow and I spent about an hour this evening just looking through old pictures on the computer, and it made me realize how badly I need to get them printed. Some were awesome for how perfect they looked and the memories they brought back...
Some were awesome for the story they told (the following is the progression from the time Clover, then probably 3 yrs old, realizes we are driving in to the auto car wash until we pull out after the wash is over)...
Wait...where are we going?
This kinda looks like the....um....
WHAT was THAT?! Sounds like sprayers!
And where there are sprayers, there might be soap...
Ohhhhhhhhhhh.
It IS the sprayers AND the soap!
Nooooooo!
Why, mom?! WHY?!
Oh, we are out now?
Yeah, that wasn't so bad. Pfft. I barely flinched.
Some were just awesome for the sheer goob factor, including, but not limited to the following:
Clover selfies...
She got her finger stuck in her toy vacuum.
This was Clover's Pre-K paper
person of me. In Pre-K, I was almost
always African-American, and this time
she added feathers on the bust area
of my pink dress (these were hung
in the hallway at school). When her
teacher asked her why she put feathers
on my dress, she said, "Because hers
boobs are REALLY soft." o.O
More selfies (that go from cute to wha----?!) and closeups of Daddy.
Dancing wasps...
Sneezing pups...
Sassy cats...
Mean cats...
Yarrow's "awkward" stage...Lord help us.
Wild Onion arguing with a T-Rex
in his best Velociraptor voice.
Proud of her crash & burn
battle scars...
Absolutely exasperated.
Yes, that is permanent marker on their faces.
Sometimes a boy just needs a snuggle from his dad... o.O
So yeah never a dull moment, & as soon as it is in the budget, some photos are getting printed.
In other news... I was pointed toward a quick little arm workout (6 minutes) that about kicked my butt.
Talk about feeling out of shape, 3 lbs on each arm had me feeling the burn! More than feeling the burn, I felt like I accomplished something. Not sure if that is good or pathetic o.O Either way, it is what it is and it felt great!
Can't wait to see what tomorrow...er um, later today, holds!
